The glaze for this honey baked ham only takes a few minutes, and most of the cooking time for the ham is hands- off. Plus, glazing your own ham is more affordable than buying one already glazed. Ingredients
- Ham: Buy a fully-cooked spiral bone-in ham that weighs 6 to 8 pounds.
- Juice: Use pineapple juice and fresh-squeezed orange juice.
- Dijon Mustard adds tanginess to balance the sweetness.
- Sweetener: Honey thickens the glaze, and brown sugar adds a little crunch.
How to Cook a Pre-Cooked Ham
- Prep: Preheat the oven to 275°F. Place the ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down, and cover it tightly with foil, or place it in a baking bag.
- How Long to Cook a Pre-Cooked Ham: Bake the spiral ham for 12 to 15 minutes per pound, depending on the size.
- Ham Glaze: Whisk the honey-ham glaze ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer it on low for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often until it reduces down and thickens into a glaze.
- Glaze the Ham: Remove the ham from the oven 15 minutes before it’s done, and brush the glaze onto it. Finish cooking the ham uncovered for the last 15 minutes.

One serving of ham is 3 ounces, so a 9-pound spiral ham will serve approximately 12 to 15 people.
When reheating a ham, bake it covered to prevent it from drying out. After you glaze it, uncover the pan so the glaze will brown.
An unopened ham that’s vacuum-sealed remains safe for up to two weeks. So, you could buy it a week or so early. If you want to serve the ham warm, wait to start baking and glazing it until a couple of hours before your guests arrive.
Ham will last in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. If you plan on eating it over a longer period, freeze it for up to two months for the best quality.

Ingredients
- 6 to 8 lbs fully cooked spiral bone-in ham
Glaze:
- 1/3 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 orange, juice of
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275F.
- Place the spiral ham in a roasting pan, cut side down. Cover tightly with foil to prevent the ham from drying out.
- Bake ham in oven at 275F 12-15 minutes per pound, depending on the size of your ham. (Approximately 2 hours)
- In a small sauce pan combine brown sugar, honey, orange juice, pineapple juice and dijon. Whisk well and simmer on low 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often until it reduces down and thickens into a glaze.
- Remove the ham from oven 15 minutes before the ham is ready and brush the glaze onto the ham.
- Finish cooking the ham uncovered for the last 15 minutes.
