Seaside Florida Vacation Getaway

I was JUST visiting Seaside for a girls weekend getaway with these fabulous ladies pictured below. Seaside FL, if you’re not familiar it’s on the Florida panhandle in Walton County, between Panama City Beach and Destin.

It’s the perfect, charming beach town with white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Pastel houses with white picket fences are tucked away on tree lined streets with families riding their bikes to the nearby ice cream shop. Quaint restaurants line the streets along with food trucks, clothing stores, art galleries, ceramic shops and more, all within walking distance. Perfect for friends’ getaways or family vacations.

A few of the places we stopped to eat were Crush, The Shrimp Shack, Pickles and Bud and Alleys.

Top left to right: Lori Smith of Seaside, Ali of Gimme Some Oven, Heidi of Foodie Crush, Amanda of Kevin and Amanda, Maria of Two Peas and Their Pod. Bottom row: Me, Bill Dawson, Heavenly Dawson, Jenny of Picky Palate and Shelly of Cookies and Cups.
(Me and Amanda)
It happened to be Ali’s birthday that weekend, so we started celebratory cocktails a little early…

We spent our afternoons walking through town, stopping for shaved ice (the toasted coconut was my fave!), doing some shopping, and of course laying on the beach.

If you are looking to visit Seaside, renting a cottage is a must. We stayed at a charming Beach Cottage Rental House called Sea-Ya which was steps away from the ocean.

Great views, beautiful kitchen, cozy living space – it felt like home. The perfect place to stay if you’re traveling with a group of friends or a large family. Honestly, a part of me wished it was MY home. Sitting on the porch you could hear the sound of ocean. I imagined what life would be like cooking in that kitchen and blogging from the porch. Who knows, maybe one day!
