So good! We made this with ground turkey and served it over a baked potato. Used Penzey’s Galena Street for the steak seasoning. Such a tasty, low point dinner! Of course, Gina, that’s what we’ve come to expect from your recipes. Thank you for helping us make such delicious meals!

What could I use in place of mushrooms? Or could I just leave them out?

To make a vegetarian version try combining 1/2 cooked green lentils and 1/2 diced tofu. We aren’t vegetarians but really enjoy this as a meatless meal!

Well, I thought I had made this as written and wondered why it was a little bland. I ended up adding salt and some beef bullion to amp it up, but realized today that I left out the steak seasoning. WOOPS! Haha it was still delicious and will be even better next time if I do it correctly!

Not bad for a healthy version of sloppy joes! I did end up adding a fee tbs of brown sugar to give it more of a copycat manwich flavor, that brought it all together! Will be making again.

Thank you so much for this delicious recipe! I’ve been searching for a healthy homemade sloppy Joe – and this one was loved by all – even my picky little one!

I didn’t have steak seasoning so I used what I had on hand: paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper. It worked out well! Next time I would love to try with what the recipe calls for.
